The Karoo sun lounger features an articulating backrest. The modern design was created to complement the Karoo Leisure Seating. The Karoo lounger is exceptionally comfortable and durable, and will only become more beautiful as it ages and the iroko timber develops it’s unique patina.
The Karoo sun lounger is made from solid iroko timber, which is perfectly suited for the outdoors. Also known as African teak, iroko is a dense and durable timber that ranges in colour from yellow to light brown, and darkens to a rich grey-brown as the wood ages. Like teak, the wood has a high natural oil content, which makes it highly suitable for full outdoor use without any form of further treatment required. If exposed to the elements the wood weathers over time to a pleasing silver-grey tone.
Oiling is entirely optional and we use a top-quality Danish oil by ProNature as our standard finish, which produces a soft matt sheen and a lightly ‘washed’ appearance to the timber. The oil also acts as a sealing agent, protecting the timber from grease stains that result from food and wine spills.

Our standard cushion supplied with the Karoo sun lounger consists of a 7cm solid foam cushion which is wrapped with Dacron and includes a lined inner cover for easy removal of the exterior cushion cover. The cushion also includes a unique headrest flap, which allows for premium comfort. We use a high quality Italian outdoor fabric for our outdoor cushions. The covers are machine washable, sun-proof and mould resistant. In addition, the cushion covers have a five year guarantee against sun-damage.
